Everything You Want to Know About Chevrolet Warranty Coverage

Did you know your car or SUV will be covered by a factory-backed warranty when you buy or lease a new Chevrolet vehicle from Keyes Chevrolet? Similarly, you may not realize that Chevy Certified Pre-Owned models and Chevrolet parts are also covered by their own warranties.

New Chevrolet Warranties 

Many drivers who visit our Chevy dealership near Sherman Oaks, CA, to shop for a new Chevrolet vehicle often ask us about the warranties they come with. Every new Chevy car has a powertrain limited warranty lasting five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. This warranty covers repairs to the engine, transmission, and drivetrain due to defects in materials or workmanship. 

A new Chevrolet automobile also has a bumper-bumper limited warranty that's good for three years or 36,000 miles. This warranty covers the whole vehicle, including its tires, against defects resulting from workmanship or materials. As comprehensive as the bumper-to-bumper warranty is, it doesn't cover things like routine maintenance or damage caused by an accident, neglect, alterations, or misuse. 

Warranties for new Chevrolet models have no deductible. As a bonus, they're fully transferable if you sell your vehicle down the line. 

Coverage for Chevrolet Certified Pre-Owned Cars 

A one-year/12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty covers Chevy Certified Pre-Owned models. This warranty takes effect when the original three-year/36,000-mile warranty expires. If that warranty has already run its course, the CPO coverage starts when the Chevrolet Certified Pre-Owned car is purchased. 

The Chevy team extends the five-year/60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty to six years or 100,000 miles for Chevrolet Certified Pre-Owned vehicles. This coverage starts on the car's original purchase date. 

Chevy Parts Warranty 

Whether you're picking up some Chevrolet accessories or having items from our Chevrolet parts center professionally installed, you never have to second-guess their quality. They are covered by a 24-month warranty, with no mileage cap, when they're purchased from an authorized dealer like our Chevy dealership.
