Charging up your Chevy Blazer EV can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re unsure what makes each charging type different. You’ll want to know how fast each charging method works and which is right for regular usage. Courtesy of Chevrolet Van Nuys, here’s everything you need to know about charging your Chevy Blazer EV.

Different Levels of Charging

Three charging levels are available, with different levels of power generated for each one. Level 1 Charging will take over 24 hours to get to full charge, but it is perfect for topping off after a short trip. With Level 2 Charging, you can easily charge to full capacity in about six hours. DC Fast Charging is the fastest, getting you back to full capacity in under two hours.

Electric Range Per Hour

Do you only have an hour to charge your car? With Level 1 Charging, you can expect to only charge up to four miles’ worth of power. Level 2 Charging has some variance, but you can increase your electric range by up to 58 miles per hour. With a powerful Level 3 DC Fast Charging station, you can easily charge more than 100 miles in an hour.

Pros and Cons

Level 1 Charging is accessible everywhere; while it’s the slowest, it generates the least expense for your home’s electric bill. Level 2 Charging home chargers’ installations are more complex and costly but are excellent for overnight charging and are common at public charging stations. Finally, while DC Fast Charging is an excellent option when you’re on the road and time is of the essence, its overuse will eventually degrade battery performance.
