For years now, Chevy has been at the forefront of electric vehicles. Two of their mainstays in this fast-growing segment are the Chevy Bolt EUV and Chevy Bolt EV. This is why it’s a little surprising that the company has decided to discontinue these models.

Why Are These Chevy Bolt Models Being Discontinued?

The reason why the Chevy Bolt models are ending production is because of their batteries. Chevrolet is making a significant investment in Ultium®-based platforms. The upcoming Chevy Blazer EV and Chevy Equinox EV use this newer, more advanced architecture.

Why Now Is the Time to Pick Up a Chevy Bolt

The last Chevy Bolts models will be made at the end of 2023, so if you’re interested in one, you don’t want to wait to make a purchase. Highlights include:

Great Power

Both the Chevy Bolt EV and Chevy Bolt EUV have an electric motor and a 66-kWh lithium-ion battery that combine to produce 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque.

Outstanding Fuel Economy

With the Chevy Bolt EV, you’ll get 131 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) in the city and 109 MPGe on the highway, while the Chevy Bolt EUV offers 125/104 MPGe city/highway.

Long Driving Range and Quick Charging Times

By EPA estimates, a full charge will take you up to 259 miles in your Chevy Bolt EV and up to 247 miles in the Chevy Bolt EUV. Using a 240-volt outlet, both cars can reach a full charge in around seven hours. And if you use DC Fast Charging, you can add up to 100 miles of driving range in just 20 minutes.

Don’t Wait to Buy a Chevy Bolt

All of this, and we haven’t even touched upon both models’ excellent technology, safety features, and more. Now is the time to snag a new Chevy Bolt model before they disappear. Visit Keyes Chevrolet near Sherman Oaks to check out our EV inventory.
